Madonna peas demonstrate high resistance to root rot and ascochytosis, standard drought resistance, and slightly higher sensitivity to shattering than ordinary pea varieties.
Madonna also has high resistance to lodging, exceeding the performance of ordinary varieties by more than 2 points, and the stem rigidity and average length make it suitable for direct combine harvesting.
